HIGH LEVEL MEDICINE

Dr. Thangudu has top notch training. She completed her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University with a major in journalism and concentrations in biological sciences and psychology. She then earned her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

She went on to a rigorous internship at Baylor College of Medicine, where she treated thousands of of the city’s sickest patients in public, private and VA hospitals and clinics in Houston. She then cared for patients during her internal medicine residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. Ten years after Katrina, the health care system in New Orleans was still in shambles, and Dr. Thangudu felt her compassion grow in this electric city. After residency, Dr. Thangudu moved to Pittsburgh, where she completed her fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at UPMC, one of the busiest endocrinology training programs in the country. She saw thousands of complex and rare cases in and out of the hospital, gave presentations for colleagues weekly, and participated in research and quality improvement projects to improve quality of care for patients with diabetes.

After training, Dr. Thangudu moved on to work for one of the largest private endocrinology groups in the country. Here, she had the opportunity to hone her skills and develop her style. She found her passion is going the extra mile for her patients, spending time with them and coaching them to a healthier life.

With this in mind, she pursued formal nutritional training through Cornell University’s Center for Nutrition Studies and a 200 hour yoga teacher training and recieved her third board certification in Lifestyle Medicine in 2019 to help patients prevent, treat and reverse chronic diseases.

Through Complete Medicine, Dr. Thangudu draws from her varied experience to create a well-rounded healthcare experience for you.
